You are invited to a Community Art Project A Collage Campaign
A social media Collage Campaign has been created for contemporary collage concept for an assignment for my Emily Carr University of Art + Design Drawing Collage class this semester. I have decided on a social media Collage Campaign as a means of; Circulation, Noise & Augmentation. Where we are supposed to build on the idea of ‘circulation’ in the context of collage, with considering a perspective of recycling digital imagery and using online software to reprocess an image or text. I chose the image 'Please Circulate' from a variety of images from our instructor with the intention to do some online processes with it. I want to see how much I can circulate this Collage Campaign with the idea that each time another part is added by someone it takes on a new presence online somewhere being added to and then circulated in social media. I like the notion of it's virtual existence as a community art piece and is not a physical object and this combination of all the places online where it exists. I also had in mind a forum for the subject of the environment where a collective voice could combine ideas and resource sharing about our environment and it's natural resources in a positive way.
Steps of Circulation for me so far...
1. I saved 'Please Circulate' image from our class online moodle site to my desktop.
2. I uploaded 'Please Circulate' image to google draw and changed the image colour.
3. exported 'Please Circulate' image and opened it in preview then change the image size.
4. Opened a facebook event page from my art with heart facebook page and added the 'Please Circulate' image to the Collage Campaign event page.
5. invite all followers to take part in the event.
6. Post the event to many facebook pages of friends, family, businesses and ask each to participate in the Collage Campaign.
7. I will continue to Circulate this Collage Campaign for 1 year digitally and possibly longer, I may also create a physical manifestation of it in my art practice.

So, how can you participate in the Collage Campaign?
Let's talk about being stewards of our environment and it's natural resources like earth, water, and air and let's keep it positive!
Step 1 - You choose something to share on the event page about our natural resources from the earth, water or air. Examples: It's can be a word, statement, poem, a photo, article, or resource from any online source. It could also be something you have created and something you what to upload and share.
Step 2 - 'Please Circulate' the Collage Campaign to all those in your social media circles. Let's see how we create our collage collectively from combining ideas and sources that are parts of each of us. This collage will exist in the virtual world on this event page and highlight all the things we are doing to preserve, protect and co-exsist with the natural resources of our earth, water and air to share the positive ways we support our environment and circulate these resources.
